Collaboration Offers Digital Sound Program

Ray Gareau, a well-known local and loved musician, entrepreneur and sound engineer, will be conducting the daytime workshop at the Key City Theatre’s gallery space on Saturday, June 22. The program format is hands on, in a mock performance/concert setting and covers:

  • System set up and hardwire;

  • Remote tablet control over Mains, Aux Monitors, Effects

  • Acoustic amplification with DI boxes and Condenser Microphones

  • Microphones on Drums.

Local artists will participate as the performers needed for the workshop. FPPAS will provide a light lunch in addition to facilitation of the practicum for trainees during the Summer Sounds/Dancing in the Park concert series at Rotary Park.

Each student will commit to two Saturdays applying their skills at the Rotary Park stage following the workshop to complete the program and receive their certificate.

Space is limited – a maximum of six participants, between 18 and 30 years of age, will be accepted to the program. Students must have their own iPad or tablet to enroll.
