Summer Sounds August 17

7 p.m. Rocky Mountain Cloggers – Established in 1992 by CCI Instructor Susan Woods, the group has enjoyed many years of dancing and fellowship offering four levels of dance and a performance group. Public performances include: Key City Theatre, Sam Steele Days and a 10-day dance tour representing Canada at the Austrian Alps Performing Arts Festival. Watch this unique presentation or participate!

8 p.m. Pretty for the People – This fistful of five performing artists first met fighting fires in northern B.C. Pretty for the People have quickly ramped up to the top of the rock scene in Cranbrook. Sarah, Graham, Janice, Mark and Ward bring years of rock wisdom to their shows. The band focuses on producing inspiring interpretations of favourite covers from AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, The Police, Fleetwood Mac and The Offspring to Foo Fighters, The Pretenders and Paramore. The band covers material from the 80s to current tracks. Don’t be surprised by the fun you will have when Pretty for the People hit the Rotary Park stage at Summer Sounds. The Summer Sounds / Dancing in the Park programs are coordinated and run by the Fisher Peak Performing Artists Society volunteers. These community events held at Rotary Park every Saturday in July and August, feature live regional performing artists and the occasional touring artist. There’s no admission and everyone is welcome!
